Michael Charles "Under The Covers" Anyone who has ever attended a Michael Charles concert knows the astounding guitar driven originals MC performs during his show but everyone is just as amazed to hear him play some great, personally chosen, cover tunes. Being special songs to MC, he keeps them true, but definitely gives them that MC twist. In answer to numerous requests from fans to have these tunes in their collection, Moonlight Label commissioned recordings of these special songs to be released as the “Under The Covers” CD Single series. Dedicating this collection as a tribute to his following, MC insisted on using only fan generated photography in the artwork for these singles. The photos being used on all the CD inserts were taken at his live shows.
The first of the singles, After Midnight, was released in late November 2011 and now we are pleased to announce the release of “Going Down” Disc Two in the “Under the Covers” CD single series.
Well in to the second quarter of 2012 and The Road Dawg Tour, we reported how the first three months were so busy and so successful, and April proved no different. Starting out the end of March with a trip up to one of the bands’ “homes away from home” Michael enhanced the stage once again at the Czars 505 Club. Always a remarkable show there!
Afterwards they spun the van around in a 180 and headed down south. Highlighting the run with a stop at another familiar spot, Brackins Blues Bar in Maryville, Tennessee they continued on to debut on the Blues Stage at the International Arts Fair in Florence, South Carolina. But the bulk of this portion of the Road Dawg Tour 2012 covered Florida; north, south, east and west. From the huge Seminole Casino complex in Coconut Creek to a little bar called “The Little Bar” the guys embraced this new territory as they introduced Michael Charles’ and his music to so many awesome people who now are fans. MC definitely laid the ground work for a bright future in the sunshine state. A big thanks to all who were involved in this incredibly successful run.
After this three thousand eight hundred and fifteen mile in 13 day excursion, the guys aren’t minding the ten day rest before the head out again to some land a little closer. April 22 sees Michael’s first appearance at the Parlor City Pub and Eatery in Cedar Rapids Iowa! We are all excited about this one as the management there is so proactive with our publicity team. We just know this show will be spectacular!! Right after the show, literally, MC will head back for a show on the very following night at his resident venue, The House of Blues in Chicago on the April 23.
May appears at the moment to lend MC some time to continue on with projects in the studio. As we write this a mid-week show in Minnesota at Legends is on the books, a prestigious benefit in Chicago for our troops, and a huge show at the Riviera Theatre in Three Rivers Michigan. But you know how things go…………the calendar just seems to fill itself up overnight. So as always, we encourage you to keep clicking on the poster for more details on shows and updates and for the chance for MC “to see you somewhere, someplace, sometime."
